Jasmin Summers

Hi, I’m Jasmin, a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher (500 hour RYT in progress!). I have always enjoyed a good stretch but I fell in love with yoga when I visited Rishikesh, India, the heart of yoga in the world. I learnt just how valuable and diverse yoga truly is. Everyone can experience benefits from practising yoga. Whether it’s the moral disciplines, personal observances, breathwork, physical yoga, concentration or meditation (or all of the above), I believe yoga can transform your life for the better. The classes I teach will focus on the physical side of yoga, including working with poses (asanas) and with our breath (pranayamas), however if you are interested in any other areas of yoga then you’re welcome to ask me any questions you’d like! Alternatively, you can look up the 8 limbs of yoga as a great place to start to learn more. Yoga asanas offer a vast array of benefits from building strength, flexibility and mobility, to purifying the mind, reducing stress, and enhancing mental clarity and focus. In 2014, yoga was recognised by the UN as universally beneficial, providing further evidence of the value yoga can add to your life.
Here’s a more detailed list of many of the benefits yoga can provide you…

● Greater Energy and Vitality – Can increase physical and mental energy levels.
Mental and Emotional Benefits

● Better Sleep – Calming poses and breathwork can improve sleep quality.
● Increased Mindfulness – Encourages living in the present moment.
● Emotional Regulation – Helps manage anxiety and depression symptoms.
What to expect from my classes…
I hope to create a welcoming environment where we do not compare ourselves to others around us, instead we focus solely on ourselves and how our body is feeling at that moment in time. It is important to remember that each individual has a unique anatomy with different body proportions and different medical histories, therefore different poses will look different
when different people attempt them. In my classes, the focus is on correct, safe alignment in each pose, so you get the most out of each pose while keeping your body protected from injury. To enhance this, props – including blocks, belts and bolsters – are available. I will show you how you can use these props to deepen your practice and move into better alignment. All necessary equipment is provided, including mats, though you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Lastly, each class I will emphasise the importance of listening to your own body. This means at any point if you’d like a rest then you’re welcome to come into downward dog, child’s pose, or whatever position your body is calling for at that moment. If you attend regular yoga classes you’ll see improvements in your strength, flexibility and mobility in no time! So come by and give it a try
